Nothing like messing about on the river on a summer’s day!

Our cruise begins in the beautiful riverside market town of Henley-on-Thames. Our boat features a glass saloon section giving fabulous views of the river, whilst offering protection if needed from the vagaries of the British weather. 

Relax and let the world drift by, while enjoying a light lunch of sandwiches and cake, with tea or coffee.

After our cruise, we will make a five-minute journey to the River & Rowing Museum. So, you may think, what could possibly be of much interest in rivers and rowing? Well you may be surprised! The museum is an award-winning boathouse-style building, comprising a number of inspirational spaces. The Rowing Gallery tells the story of rowing from Ancient Greeks to modern Olympians and courageous trans-Atlantic expeditions. Discover how races got ever faster through a combination of technological developments and tailored training programmes; how four wounded servicemen were able to row all the way across the Atlantic Ocean; and what started some of the most famous rowing events we know and love today. And don’t forget to look up!

Other galleries focus on the stories of the mighty river Thames; the fascinating history of the town of Henley; a gallery showcasing the work of the distinguished 20th century local artist John Piper; and let’s not forget the charming Wind in the Willows experience, recreating Kenneth Graham’s enchanting riverside world.

Not forgetting the café and gift shop, and a stroll along the river if you wish! A relaxing and interesting day out.
