The Savill Garden

Our day begins with a visit to the 35 acre Savill Garden, one of the three outstanding gardens of Windsor Great Park. Created in the 1930s, The Savill Garden is a natural haven of beautifully designed gardens and woodland that can be enjoyed by everyone, from dedicated horticulturists to those who just like a gentle potter! We are free to stroll around the gardens at our own pace. Highly recommended is a visit to Summer Wood - and to The Summer Gardens, where the Rose Garden will be in full bloom. Keep an eye out for all the butterflies which make their home throughout the Great Park all Summer.

There are a number of attractive eateries offering a range of hot and cold meals and snacks, so you can make your own arrangements for lunch to suit your timings and appetite. Save a bit of room though - cream tea later!

At 2.15pm we will re-board the coach to go up the road for...

River cruise with afternoon tea

As you will know, the Magna Carta was signed in 1215 by King John on the banks of the Thames at Runnymede. Discover more about this historic event with a fascinating commentary, and look out for landmarks along the way, with stunning views of Windsor Castle and the English countryside as you sit back and relax.

Tea and cream scones will be served during the afternoon. Please let us know any dietary requirements (gluten free, dairy free, vegan etc).
