Exbury Gardens and Steam Railway
Exbury, Southampton
Tea/coffee and private talk at 12.00 noon, followed by free flow garden and railway visit

An opportunity to enjoy a blissful meander through glorious English gardens. More than 100 years in the making, Exbury's gardens, designed and curated by the de Rothschild family, have the power to delight and inspire in equal measure.

We’ll arrive at around 12 noon and start our day with tea/coffee and biscuits and a private introductory talk giving an overview of the history and key features of Exbury Gardens.

Thereafter you can enjoy the Gardens at your own pace and according to your interests. A number of areas are planted specifically for summer colour and interest:

-
The Centenary Garden - a contemporary garden planted to mark the 100th anniversary of Exbury Gardens in 2019
-
Sundial Garden - peacefully atmospheric with exotic shrubs and topiary
-
Iris Garden - recently refurbished a replanted with numerous varieties
-
Herbaceous Garden - fragrant and diverse - some of the largest herbaceous borders in the UK
-
Hydrangea Walk - blues and mauves move into pinks and white, stunning during mid-late summer.

Also - enjoy the sights and sounds of a working narrow-gauge steam railway!
In your own time, head to the replica Victorian station ‘Exbury Central’ for a 1.5mile meander through the Summer Lane Garden, past the rock garden, through a tunnel, over a bridge, and round the new Dragonfly Pond… Go on - you know you want to!
