Due to popular demand... We thought it was time to take a trip to Norfolk, to enjoy the Thursford Christmas Spectacular, a highly regarded and hugely popular attraction positively bursting with seasonal colour and cheer!​

Itinerary Day 1
Wimpole Estate
​
We’ll break our journey towards Norwich with a visit to the Wimpole Estate (NT), incorporating the hugely impressive Wimpole Hall, as well as gardens and grounds if the weather is suitable and as time permits. Own arrangements for lunch in the Stables Café.
Wimpole Hall is an historic 17th-century mansion, with intimate family rooms that contrast with lavish Georgian interiors.
Then onward to our hotel where we’ll convene for our first dinner in the restaurant.
Itinerary Day 2
Langham Glass followed by the Thursford Christmas Spectacular

After a leisurely start to the day with breakfast in our hotel, we'll make a visit to Langham Glass for a talk and demonstration of glass making techniques. Own arrangements for lunch in their Café Nelson, and a browse in shop offering unique glass gifts large and small.

Then on to the main event! The Thursford Christmas Spectacular is... well, spectacular! A varied and dazzling array of song, music, and dance spread across a huge stage, with lavish lights and decoration to celebrate the joy of Christmas. Before the show, you also have the option of visiting the 'Enchanted Journey of Light'. We make our own arrangements for early dinner in the on-site Garden Pavilion restaurant or Barn café, where a small but hearty range of hot food is available. Mince pies and mulled wine are also available all evening.
The show starts at 7pm and lasts three hours, including an interval.
Itinerary Day 3
St Edmundsbury Cathedral with lunch at The Angel Hotel, Bury St Edmunds
Hotel check out, then we begin our homeward journey.
But one last stop to break our journey - the lovely Bury St Edmunds where you can visit the inspirational St Edmundsbury Cathedral and, weather permitting, take a stroll in the adjoining Abbey Gardens, site of the ruins of the Abbey of St Edmund. Or browse the range of independent shops, if that's more your style! During our time here, we'll have a delicious group Christmas lunch in the Angel Hotel - familiar to many of you from our trip here in 2022.
We’ll leave Bury St Edmunds at about 3pm to be back in the home area around 6.00pm.
