Christmas is a wonderful time to visit Waddesdon. From the huge beautifully

lit Christmas trees that greet you at the door, to the sumptuous Christmas decorations inside, the traditional seat of the Rothschild dynasty is a real

festive treat.

Our day will run as follows:

​

• 12.00noon Arrival at the beautiful Five Arrows Hotel on the Waddesdon estate, to enjoy a traditional two course Christmas lunch (vegetarian/vegan option available - we'll check for any dietary requirements nearer the time), including glass of wine and tea/coffee after
   

• From 1.30pm Time to browse Waddesdon’s Christmas market.
  Eighty hand-selected exhibitors all housed in charming wooden chalets. The stalls offer an exciting variety of high-quality, unique gifts, decorations, crafts and festive foods.
   

• 3.00pm Timed entry to visit the decorated rooms of the Manor. This year the house decorations feature festive displays, sparkling trees and sumptuous decorations inspired by a set of paintings by Russian designer Léon Bakst, originally displayed in the Tower Room. See the beloved fairytale of Sleeping Beauty brought to life throughout the House.
   

• 4.00pm As the light begins to fade, we will make our way out to the gardens. From dusk, the Manor and grounds come to life with a new Winter Light Trail, as the Sleeping Beauty story is celebrated with projections on the Manor's façade, and the spectacular landscape is transformed into a kaleidoscope of colour. lights and music. 

 

There will also be time for more last-minute Christmas shopping in the market or the festively decorated Gift Shop, before we depart at 5.00pm.

Excursion cost:

£95pp for National Trust members or £115pp if not an NT member 

 

to include entry to House, Gardens, Christmas Market and Winter Light Trail, two-course Christmas dinner with glass of wine, coach travel, driver's gratuity and administrative charges.
